That's why mcr suggested that we not talk about what kind of device is used to 
share the file.   Actually, though, a lot of routers do have USB ports.   They 
also have ethernet ports, which is another way to peer hardware together.

IMO, then explain the format of the key as an ASCII string. The file can then be described as the bare key.
