Just a quick update, based on the feedback we got here and on private channels.

This is mostly a cleanup to remove the partly ambiguous use of the terms "connection" and "message" and one backwards-incompatible change to TLVs to simplify the state machines and get rid of an unnecessary TLV-to-TLV dependency as well as an accompanyingTLV-renumbering.

Abstract:
This document describes the Distributed Node Consensus Protocol
(DNCP), a generic state synchronization protocol which uses Trickle
and Merkle trees. DNCP is transport agnostic and leaves some of the
details to be specified in profiles, which define actual
    implementable DNCP based protocols.
