Klaus,
You are probably right about the horn being in F. That was my first
thought, too. The open notes correspond to a B-flat horn. The length of
the 2nd valve is closer to a horn in F. If it is in F, the third valve
is probably normal. I had to use a modern receiver for the mouthpiece.
I wonder how long the initial crook should be, and if I can make one
from a pitch filled lead pipe. I assume it was a single loop, but it
would be nice to find a picture.
The place name is Teplitz (Teplice).
Thank you for the church history. My father (also a horn player) was a
professor of historical theology, and an expert on the Dutch
reformation.

There were family links between populations of Markneukirchen and
Graslitz. All were Bohemian rooted, but the protestants among them had
been thrown out by a catholic king. They went to Saxony, where the
protestant Markgraf gave them a new church for their village, hence
Markneukirchen.
The denomination could often be read from the spelling of the family
name. Meinl and Klier were catholic. Meinel and Glier were protestant.
The Meindl spelling is new to me.
As for the horn itself, it is not in Bb. It is a single F horn missing
its initial crook. A horn mouthpiece will not fit the receiver. The
function of the link will be distorted, when it contains " or other
funny signs. The horn may be seen here (I hadnt seen the d by then):

Hello Carl,
is that horn by A.Meindl from Graslitz ? If so, you should not say
Czechoslovakia (you mispelled it as Czechoslavkia instead of correct
Czechoslovakia from Czech & Slovakia) for some reason:
1. Czechoslovakia did not exist then, as it was The Kingdom of
Bohemia, ruled in personal-union by the Habsburg, Emperor of the
Austrian-Hungarian imperium.
2. Czechoslovakia does not exist any more as it split up into Czech
Republik & Slovakia several years ago.
3. Graslkitz (Kraslice) was inhabitated by the same folks as
Klingenthal & Markneukirchen on the other side of the border (but no
border more) since centuries & was over 80% German.
Double extension on the third slide: Uhlmann in Vienna did such; I
know a Raoux-Millereau & other horns having such.
By the way, the link does not work from my iMAC.
Regards Hans
