Hello Tim, Absolutely worth the $90.00.
As a long time user of a tone blob, I wouldn't buy a Paxman horn without also purchasing a blob to go with it; it's damping effect is similar to the "fine focus" adjustment on a telescope. The notes are more slotted (especially in the high register), have a better center and projection. You may also find that you have to adjust your finger speed on slurs as well.
