We just closed our season with a concert that included a Bruch Violin concerto. 4th horn was in B flat and I was doing pretty good on transposing except when I hit the last movement. Stuff just didn't sound right. Add to that the fact that we went through about four rehearsals with different members of the section missing. I didn't know what was not right.
Last night just before we started the piece I noticed just under the first line of the last movement, neatly tugged away between several other notation, the words "in C."
