Does anyone have any knowledge about a repair shop called Buddy's Brass in Long Island, NY? This guy is about 5 minutes from my house, has an ultrasonic cleaner, and according to the 3rd horn player in one of the bands I'm in is good. I just don't know what this guy defines as 'good'.
Right now I bring my horn to Siegfried's Call, about 3 hours from my house. It would be wonderful to bring my horn to someone who is almost walking distance away from me. Is there anyway for me to tell, other than from personal recommendations, if a shop is good? Are there questions I can ask? My horn's a Dieter Otto Geyer wrap horn that's a year old if that makes any difference.
