"Mellophone" and "marching mellophone" are actually two different instruments,
but as the original instrument has faded into past history, the "marching" part
has been left out of the description of the newer instrument. What is now
usually called simply a mellophone does indeed have a forward pointing bell,
but the term was earlier applied to instruments like that in the eBay auction-
right handed piston valves and in Eb, but shaped like a horn.
