Well, (in the case of how to get a stuck rim off a mouthpiece)- Many thanks to those of you who wrote with suggestions. I was able to remove two rims from my 4 stuck MP's by striking the rims a glancing blow on an old telephone book. this has not worked on the other two MPs. Indeed , I tried for about a week on my favorite Lawson and only succeeded in hitting my finger twice and dropping the mouthpiece once- after which I decided to let good enuf alone before I dented the rim (:<). Thanks again for all the advice, I am still experimenting on the remaining screw- rim.
