My fourth horn player came into rehearsal on Thursday with a compensating double horn made by Huttl. Huttl made horns in Germany, and later, Canada.
The horn plays very well, but standard mouthpiece shanks are a bit small for the receiver and go in about one and a quarter inches. They still move around even at that depth. I know Moosewood could help me, and I know that Laskey now makes a large shank mouthpiece. However, does anyone out there have a larger than normal shank mouthpiece they would be willing to sell cheap? He'd like a medium or medium deep cup with a medium or average rim, whatever that is. Thanks.
