Which law has been broken? Under which law can the owner of these originals prevent others from making copies? No physical theft occured in making these copies. I am not a lawyer, but it seem obvious that copyright law has not been broken as these were created by Mozart long enough ago that they have fallen into the public domain (as I understand it Germany is a life+70 years country). United States copyright also disallows so called 'sweat of the brow' works as eligible for copyright. In other words, just because someone puts a lot of work into something and publishes it does not mean it is automatically copyrighted. (As I understand it the EU follows a similar rule.) So if not copyright law, which law was broken? -----Jay _______________________________________________ post: [email protected] unsubscribe or set options at https://pegasus.memphis.edu/cgi-bin/mailman/options/horn/archive%40jab.org
