Wow, Emory, Jack Jarratt, now there's a blast from my distant past. Did
someone ring in with the 4 Hornsmen yet? I believe the composer was Bennett.

This one doesn't necessarily fit into the "something more melodious" category,
but it is fun to play, and definitely showcases the horn section. There is a
Virginia connection as well. The composer at one time was an assistant
conductor of the Richmond Symphony:

Subject: [Hornlist] Band Piece Featuring Horn Section

Hornists:
an anyone recommend a good band piece featuring the horn section?
e did "Caught by the Horns" by Burton Hardin a few years ago, but now the
irector
ould like something more melodious - perhaps from a musical or a movie.
his is for a better-than-average community band of about 90-plus members.
here are 8 in the horn section. Thanks for any help you may be able to give me.
