A friend alerted me that there were a bunch of early Chicago Symphony 
recordings with Frederick Stock conducting on YouTube.  Here's Tchaikovsky 5th, 
2nd Mvmt.

If my exhaustive and highly scholarly pushing of a button on the internet is 
correct, I think this would be Pellegrino Lecce on 1st horn.  He started with 
the CSO in 1927.
