Here is some new info about the dorms, overnight parking and transportation to airport, etc.
First of all, i want to thank all of you who responded and reserved your dorm beds in time for us to make our goal. You have made it possible for us to restructure our agreement and make more rooms available. We will continue to sell dorm beds for the foreseeable future, but there are a limited number available, so act as soon as you can. We will post here if there is any change. It is now possible to get a single room by just buying both beds in any room. If you want to change from a bed in a double room that you have already paid for to a single, write to me at [email protected] and i will work with you on that. The price of $80 per night with breakfast for a single is still a very good deal by local standards, especially n the summer. We have started a Transportation Committee to help those of you who would like to stay in the dorms and not rent a car. Public Transit is available from the SF airport, but it is a bit circuitous and/or expensive. We have volunteers who would like to help anyone with issues involving getting to the symposium from the SF airport or, preferably, BART in Daly City, getting to the symposium from another hotel that you might be using for Sunday night or Saturday night and helping you with baggage and check in/out once you get to San Francisco State. We will help make this work for you. One option is SuperShuttle. Here is their web site. It is $17 for the first person and $10 for additional people up to 9 total. We believe in the dorm experience as something that has been a great symposium tradition from the very beginning. we will do everything we can to make that work for you. If we come up with better plans we will post them here. PARKING NEWS Parking overnight in the main garage. You can put in $10 for a pass that gives you two days.
