I recently acquired three programs for St. Louis Symphony Concerts dating
December 23, 1907, December 27, 1908, and December 26, 1909.

The horn players for 1907 were: Franz Hoefer, Carl Schinner, Karl Peter and
George Zaenglin.
For 1908 they were Arthur Kunze, Carl Schinner, Paul Thaens, and Carl
Schrickel.
And for 1909 they were Charles Eymann, Waldemar Helmholz, Paul Thaens, and
Carl Schinner

Max Zach was the Conductor. A google search shows that he conducted the
Symphony from 1907 to 1921.

Of interest, the 1908 program also is listing The “St. Louis Horn Quartet” as
one of the soloists for the Sunday Popular Concerts. Unfortunately it does not
list who is in the quartet, although I suspect it is the Symphony horn section
since the only other instrumentalist listed as a soloist is the concertmaster.

If you want me to list the program, let me know and I will do so in separate
posts. Also if anyone would like a scan of the programs, including the program
notes and some very amusing period ads, you can email me off list.
