This summer I'm headed back to Baltimore for the BSO Academy. Part assignments are made on the first day. I'd like to hone up on the works we will be doing. So I'm looking for suggestions as to what I might work on in all four parts.
On the program this year. Bernstein ** ** *Overture to Candide* Ravel *Alborada del gracioso* Mahler *Symphony No. 2, mvmt. 1* Rimsky-Korsakov *Capriccio espagnole* Hindemith *Symphonic Metamorphosis* I'm familiar with Overture to Candide and Cappriccio Espanole. My Thompson Editions only has Symphonic Metamorphosis. It appears that the one part that would stand out in all four parts is the last of the finale.
