Amazing photos. Something to remember about the bands/ensembles around the wax cylinder days of recording. Usually an array of recording 'horns' were arranged near the band. They would do about 20 or so cylinders at a time, so if they wanted 5,000 copies of the cylinders they would need to play through a piece roughly 250 performances of the piece per recording or more.
