I did the Mozart several years ago with Buffalo and Julius Rudel.  It was a
"Hoffnung"??? concert... sorry again about spelling.  We had this "stick"
where I came out dressed out like an old farmer.  It was tons of fun.  The only
problem was that Julius cut the pipe to short when I was tuning and I ended up
playing the blasted thing sharp.  It was so much fun though.

It took me forever to find the right hose and the length that would work.

Have fun.

Subject: [Hornlist] Hosepipe concerto

Good evening folks,

May I ask for two bits of information:

1.  Some time ago  there was some talk about a video on youtube of the horn
section of one of the major orchestras playing something on hosepipes.  I
can't find it.  Could someone remind me who and what it was please?

2.  Also, a misguided friend of mine has allowed himself to be persuaded to
play a concerto on hosepipe.  The conductor has asked for the Leopold
Mozart.  It's hard.

Could anyone suggest any other concertos that will work.

Yes, I know any concerto written before the use of hand horn technique will
work, but does anyone have any specific concertos that they know will work
without putting the hosepipe player in hospital.

Cheers,

Lawrence
