Hi,

I'm glad you qualified your statement by saying, "I bet ...." because  
I bet, in Europe, that not 25% of principals own a triple.
I agree with Hans. John Brownlee, formerly with the Tonkunstler in  
Vienna and then my principal in the BBC orchestra in Wales, used a  
single F alongside his Kruspe double whenever necessary and had both  
on the platform for Beethoven 2 (you know the bit) but NOT for no. 7.
