With all this talk about flutter tonguing, it reminds me of how
I learnt. When at school I was told that for flutter tonguing you
needed to "roll your Rs" (which is true), and I was mad! I couldn't
roll my Rs at *all*!!!

One day I was playing goalie in a hockey match (field variety) and
just for once, my team was attacking and I was bored, and for some
reason I was going "Brom pom, brom pom", in a tiddley om pom type of
way. "Brom pom, brom pom, brom pom, brom pom, brom pom", and then
all of a sudden I did "Br-r-r-rom pom"  !!!! Hey! A rolled R !!!
So then I spent the rest of the match going "Brom pom" in the hopes
of learning to roll my Rs, and I managed it.

"R-r-r-r-r-r-r-r-r-r" :-)

After that, flutter tonguing was easy! But I never again during
school came across a piece where I needed it! ARGH!!!!!!!!!!
Never mind :-)
