I have often recommended to people to record themselves. The only thing one needs is a recorder such as a minidisc and a microphone. Sony makes a pretty good set up for much less than their datpro used to cost. For those whose awareness isn't at the peak levels recording themselves can be very useful as a developmental tool. It is much easier to expand awareness if one isn't constantly filtering the results of a session with how one desires it to have gone-the tape doesn't lie at least until you put it into protools or cooledit!
