What I do is the trick you use to see if there is a leak in a bicycle tire. 
Take a large bathtub and completely submerge the horn in it with the leadpipe 
sticking out or some such. Then blow into it, and if you see air bubbles 
creep out of any place on the horn, you know if you have air leaks :)

This also works the other way round by attaching a hose to the leadpipe and 
running water through the horn. If you notice any dribbles, well you know 
what that means :)

But be careful though. If you have enough water pressure in your horn and you 
move the valves quick enough the slides will shoot out like a rocket.
