Greetings all, I know that there are many younger folks who are looking for horns but don't have too many euros/dollars whatever in the bank. I was checking out eBay tonight and I see that someone has a Mirafone Double Horn Kruspe/Horner style horn for sale and the asking price is $1100.00 in the "buy it now" option.
I remember Mirafone horns quite well and thought that they played well too. Some people found them stuffy, but again this is subjective. Most will remember Mirafone as a maker of tubas, but they made horns as well. I understand that they are still in business but in a much reduced state. In my opinion this would be a better deal than a used 6D or Holton and at a very attractive price too. I don't know anything about the seller and as always it would be caveat emptor, but it might be worth checking out. If I wasn't saving money to go to the IHS Conference in June, I would seriously think about purchasing it. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2515975040&category=16215 Mark L. _______________________________________________ post: [EMAIL PROTECTED] set your options at http://music.memphis.edu/mailman/options/horn/archive%40jab.org
