There it is: college band. This tuning after given "bb" comes from the
bands. Life in a symphony is much different, William. Well, my tuning
system might be different than yours, as I mainly play the F-side, but I
correct the pitch of the horn (the general level) many times during a
concert evening or even in the opera, where stage or pit heat has much
influence upon our brass intonation. Principally, one should use the
easiest & best pitches of the double on both sides to adjust the
intonation.

But your technical interpretation of the tuning system of the double
horn is absolutely correct.

But think about "ear education".

Definately, as my college band directory always says, "Tuning is not a
prefunctory act".
