I have been able to eliminate the slide grease-valve oil mixing and contamination problem by now using only valve oil on the valves AND on the valve slides. I no longer use grease on the valve slides. The slides don't slide as nice with just valve oil, but I can remove the slides reasonably well, and now I don't have to contend with the valve oil and slide grease mixing and contaminating the valves. A worthwhile trade off. You can still use grease on the main tuning sides.
