Michael,

Bill Caballero is a phenomenal player, and the Pittsburgh horn section is
truly a first class section. I do not think that the current Chicago
Symphony horn section goes purely for quantity of sound. That is truly a
false stereotype. Being able to add edge to the sound is thought of as a
color. The CSO horn section also is able to play one of the most fabulous
pianissimos as a section. The time I spent studying with Dale Clevenger gave
me a great appreciation of what it means to be able to play with a vast
array of colors in one's sound palette, and to play with a legato that is
smooth as silk.

IMHO,

John Schreckengost
