Must be very uniqer guitar players?! I've used the sand paper files on my
finger nails...
and I've played guitar most of my life. If this isn't a joke- all I do is
play my guitar more to toughen up the fingers.

And, I've never tried playing guitar with my lips either. The most
painful experience I ever had playing guitar with my lips was during an
electric short! In a small group I used a "borrowed" 12 string electric
guitar. It had a lose wire in it. This was many moons ago and we didn't
have lots of money. I got too close to the metal microphone while singing
and when my lips touched it I got quite a jolt.

And, sand paper on the lips??? An extra 2 hours of practice of day would
work better!!!!
