Anyone have any authoritative information on the identity of the horns playing a Berlin Philharmonic live performance of Brandenburg concerto no. 1? Herbert von Karajan conducts this performance that took place and was recorded at the Salzburg festival on August 16, 1968.
Good horn playing, at least as much as the bad recorded sound allows through. Mushy technicolor Karajan interpretation. Slow movement almost stops dead in its tracks. Other movements move along decently.
