Hello Michael. The "detachable bell has not a will of its own", you must
get a feeling how to attach the bell to the horn, how to find "the bite"
of the screw.

Screw backwards until it clicks, then screw, but carefully.
Yeah, these thin screws ...... They cost just a fraction of my screws,
which are big & trapezoid, but just fitting for my own horns, sorry. All
improvements are a cost factor.
Michael, again, it is not the hard ware (instrument), but the soft ware
(our brain).

Even waking up an already dead horse:
Yamaha & other factories use ultrasonic cleaning before lacquering the
horns. How should "factory dust" accumulate inside an already cleaned
horn after the lacquering ?? I cannot imagine such. Do you believe, the
factory environment is full of aggressive or abrasive dust, perhaps ?
How about the rules for factory environment ?

Michael, customers like you - I will not blame you, as you just had
nobody next to you passing relevant information - to you - , customers
like you are the cause of price increase, as these working time must be
paid by someone.

Subject: [Hornlist] Factory Dust

       Hey everybody,
I hope my cleaning quest is done, and the evil lord Buffing Dust
was
banished from the inside of my horn! I took it to the shop and had it
disassembled and ultrasonically cleaned. Tomorrow (hopefully) I go to
aquire it. For my
roving eye has set its glimpse on it, and the detachable bell has a will
of
its own....Its searching for its master.....(except I didnt forge it in
the hot
firey chasms of the Yamaha Factory....just spent some money...quite
abit.....to say I did.). MWOOHAHAHA!
Lol, got a little carried away.
Wish me luck that its all cleaned out.

       Mike

PS: Thanks all, especially Mr. Mumford and Professor Hans Pizka,
for
all your help.
