Are you joking ? I have never seen nor heard that band musicians
concentrated on a marching shop, have ever adjusted slides or lips
during such a performance to compensate the Doppler effect.

If you play with relaxed embouchure & not so loud as usual, thing go by
far better than while playing so obnoxious loud. The ballet is not easy
to memorize, off course, but isnīt there a certain system involved ? And
the downbeat problem ? If you got a rhythmic feeling, just stay in the
rhythm. Thatīs it. Do you think, you can see everything from the
conductor when playing in the pit ? And special downbeat ? Often it is a
mere upbeat after upbeat, like the music were in to be conducted all in
one beat on & on.

We have a proverb: "Leave the church in the village !" (Letīs not get
carried away !)

Subject: [Hornlist] Marching Band Challenges

Let's look at the difficulties involved with performing in a marching
band with
a horn in the most difficult venue, the football halftime show.

The difficulty of playing horn while marching is understood by anyone
playing
horn while marching, and we are talking about high step marching.
