Fer you youngsters out there (taking out false teeth and putting in glass)
C.G. Conn, along with most other "non essential" companies, stopped doing
what they were doing during W.W.II and made war materials.  I have seen
several Conn compasses over the years.  Here is a little known fact, if you
take most of the 8Ds made right after the war (1946-1950) and put them in a
tub of water they point north.
