Actually with the latest MP3 recorders you record at 320kb/sec, I think mine records at 16-bit. 32-bit recording is overkill and would probably cost a few thousand bucks for the right equipment.
And plus, if you just click and drag the files from the player to the computer you can get a full hour of recording through a good firewire connection over a few minutes. It takes longer with USB I think. With 20 gigs on my MP3 recorder, it's generally about 10 megabytes per minute. At 2000 megabytes, that leaves about 200 minutes for recording at full quality. Plus, what I do is I usually will transfer the raw .wav recording to a DVD-R if I have to. That way it's on a digital medium which will last a very very long time. DVD-R burners are quite cheap now, and burning a full 5 gig DVD only takes about 15 minutes. -William In a message dated 8/27/2004 11:30:15 AM Pacific Daylight Time, [EMAIL PROTECTED] writes: For most it's analogue from the MDR into your sound card. I do this all the time and it's a bit of a pain, but far better in terms of quality/$ ratio than anything else I've found. _______________________________________________ post: [EMAIL PROTECTED] unsubscribe or set options at http://music.memphis.edu/mailman/options/horn/archive%40jab.org
