Alcohol is often used to clean up after cleaning with solvents because it evaporates
with no resedue.

Alcohol, however, absorbs water quite readily, and in large quantity. If its stored
for a long period, you may find it is 20-30% water. Not only that, since the water is
precipitated from the atmosphere, the impurities get into the alcohol. I remember
trying to figure out why $30,000 laser windows for the Sheva fusion laser were
exploding, and tracking it back to improperly stored alcohol.

Rubbing alcohol, is diluted with water, so don't use that to dry anything, even though
it makes a decent rinse and is safer to store than pure alcohol.
