Wes, a very good comparison. Excellent. But, isnīt the problem deeper ? I still cannot understand, why rotor casings should corrode under normal circumstances, say, if the horn is played without greater intervals (no, no, Cabbage !!) of laying in the case, and if the horn is maintained incl. inside cleaning every third year at least, and if the valves are lubricated regularly ?
The user must be an extreme pig or super careless, so the valve rotors or casings will corrode. Yes, there are extreme cases (again, no, no, Cabbage !), where the saliva gets extremely acid & does harm the horns inner side, but here medication or a change in the diet should help. But this requires self examination, self recognition & the will to change attitudes ....... This seems to be the most difficult ..... Admitted, some plumbers use inappropriate means of cleaning tools or liquids, to clean their horn. These home made repair men ruin the horns often. ============================================================== -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Thursday, September 09, 2004 12:27 PM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Re: [Hornlist] Valve Cleaning Class When you clean the rotors and then put them back into a dirty horn with corroded casings, isn`t that a little like changing a very dirty diaper but not washing off the little hinder?
