Dennis Brains recordings of the Mozart concerti are singular,
representing true respect for the Mozartian text & showing the same time
Dennis Brains unique style.

I regard Michael Hoeltzels recordings of the Mozart concerti as the best
regarding true Mozart style. There is no EGO in his recordings, just
Mozart. And the sound master is also an excellent horn player, soloist &
teacher: Wolfgang Gaag (German Brass, professor at the Munich Hochschule
fuer Musik, long time principal of Bamberg Symphony & Muchich
Philharmonic).

The only thing in Dennis Brains recording is the path-paht-paht, but
thatīs Dennis Brain. That was his way of playing. By the way, all other
things recorded with Dennis Brain reflect this great genius, as a horn
player and as a wonderful musician.

Herr Pizka,
There are many, many recordings of the Mozart concertos but I wish
to only ask about one. Do you consider Dennis Brain's recordings to be
in the "Mozart tradition & style"?

regards,
Leonard L. Brown
