How can this HUGE generlization that a deep funnel
mouthpiece is standard, be valid?

Easy Hard Charger!
Before we get our panties too bunched up here, I did not recommend
another mouthpiece. What I said was that this particular mouthpiece
has a shallow cup. It is not a medium cup nor is it a deep cup. This
may indeed work for the student in question but generally
speaking-speaking to the statistical average and not the exception-a
shallow cup is not recommended for all around playing. Citing an
exception doesn't disprove the rule. In addition to my NOT
recommending another mouthpiece (nor can I recall ever recommending a
particular mouthiece in this forum) I DID tell her where to look for
what she wanted and the general type of alternative mouthpiece if she
couldn't find it.

Quite frankly, if I could lay my hands easily on the Tuckwell MP I own
I would sell it to her myself. Personally, I think she should consult
with her instructor and the Moose before making a change of equipment
but I'm not about to waste energy or brain cells on the matter.

Cheers!
