Ok, Yes, it has lovely melodies in some of the even
movements. I can't recall anything particularly low,
but then again, it was almost a year ago. I know that
article a few Horn Calls back said there was some low
stuff, so there probably is. I am sure that it has no
memorable melodies. While masterfully written and
brilliantly executed by Sommerville, it was still a
very contemporary piece. I am aware that John Zrible
will be playing it on February 26, 2006 up in Montreal
with Williams conducting if anyone is interested.
