Eric, Thanks for reminding me of that. The listing that I first saw in Grove decades ago has always tantalized and frustrated me. I believe that someone, possibly you, pointed out the fact that there is no way to prove its existence without a pilgrimage to Schott (and probably not even then).
I wish I had this piece in mind when I wandered to the outskirts of Mainz a plundered their warehouse for a pile of horn related publications back in 1977 when the exchange rate a music prices in general were much more favorable. Thesis material, eh? Any takers?
