Jeff,
You can only rent Shostakovich parts from Schirmer, and they do rent
individual parts. I've just had to rent a replacement horn 5 for Festive
Overture for our first Masterworks.
For other inquiries, Educational Music Service has been very helpful in
locating music, you can also buy music through them. Contact is:

Hope this helps,

Subject: [Hornlist] sheet music for orchestral parts

Hello,
I have been looking for the first horn part for the Shostakovich 10th
Symphony. I've done several internet searches, and the closest I've come
is
a study score for about $45. That would probably serve the purpose (which
is: to do a little practice prior to getting access to parts handed out for
rehearsal), but having to flip through so many pages would be awkward, and
I
didn't plan on spending that much.
Does anyone have any suggestions, not only for this specific piece, but in
general? I know about (and own a couple of CDs from) the "Orchestra
Musician's CD Library".
Thanks,
Jeff Stewart
