Does it matter really when using a "spray" horn ??

I use a rubber mouthpiece. The more pressure I apply, the
shallower the cup gets, while the rim flattens out. However,
if I suddenly jump to the low register, it's apt to suck
some fillings out, and they sound dreadful going through the
horn.

  Oops. The genleman withe three horns would switch from one
to the other on the same piece of music. Each horn had a
different mouthpiece.
