I would like to make a comment on Steven Mumford's thesis the Elkhart horns are all warn out : do not forget that after valve rebuild the horn's reaction is fine . some repair men even make whole new valves - what can be bad about it ? I have an Nseries Conn 8D and I , personally , find it a great instrument . Only now , after 20 years , I have transfered to a triple horn .
