Alas, Yes. The original "Auf dem Strom" calls for horn in E. However there are versions with the work transcribed down a half step to E Flat, and down a whole step to the key of D. And I have heard of an arrangement in the Key of C, to accomodate a low voice. Thus I would not be surprised if a recording has been made in one of the lower keys. That reminds me, based on the text it seems natural that the voice should be a tenor. However recordings by sopranos, anr known. Margo Stagliano, for instance. Regards.
