Hey Folks -
I got a question for anyone out there interested in replying. For those of you
who own more than one horn, do you switch back and forth depending on the
piece, ensemble, conductor, section mates ... or stick exclusively to a single
instrument? I own and play on a E. Schmid (large bell) and have for 3 years,
but every now and again I see my old, beautiful 8D sitting in the closet and
take it out for a spin. These are of course very different horns, and
(although I sound almost identical, and can't tell on some older recordings of
myself made about the time I bought the Schmid which horn I was playing -
scary!) handle very differently. It's occurred to me that perhaps I'd be
better off using both horns for different things and switching between them.
Any thoughts from those of you who do/did this full time?

Take care, happy Kopprasch,
