What is really humbling is to realize that Leitgeb premiered all the Mozart concertos on a valve less horn, and with a mouthpiece made of curved sheet
metal.

How narrow would the rims have been?
For comparison, I use a Pizka.

I presume they would have been rolled over to make a thicker rim than the metal of the sheet itself.

P.S. a friend bought me a Parrot while he was in China: incredible!
Now I have an instrument to leave out for the kids to play with.
And I appreciate even my cheapest Yamaha much more now.
