Franz Streitwieser made a very nice recording of some of these high horn concertos using a Clarinhorn, an instrument of "his own invention", something like a Bb post horn with valves. I think the Neruda concerto is on that recording, I'm not finding my copy immediately here but maybe somebody else can supply the details. Franz is a trumpet player by trade.
