You could also consider the use of reference_point=yes essentially for all
of these as the whole idea of that tag is to highlight those map objects
that are used as navigation landmarks. (You should of course still have a
"main tag" when reference_point is not the only classifying tag.)

The reference_point= tag hasn't picked up too much use and with that
neither do we yet have tools/services supporting it that I would know of.

That said, I think that conceptually this is an excellent tag for
especially those areas of the world in which no proper addressing system
exists (street names + building numbers) or it isn't well developed.
