Tyler and all,

Thinking back to day 1 of the HOT Summit and Tyler's launch into the ED
role - wow - 6 months has flown by and so much has happened; it truly
showcases the fast-pace and difficulty of the job. Having known some of the
other candidates, I want to give a quick Thank You to the hiring committee
for what I'm sure was not an easy choice. Personally, it has been a
pleasure working with and getting to know Tyler; it's also really amazing
to me that we actually got to spend time face-to-face at 3 conferences in
those 6 months (and for those who don't know, Tyler and I were actually
roommates in Dar Es Salaam during the Africa Open Data Conference). Besides
being easy to get along with, Tyler has shown a tireless commitment to our
mission and since the first time we had a chance to talk has focused the
conversation on how the ED can further support the work of the HOT
community while gently hammering out a long-term strategy for the
organization's success.

Tyler, you have done well; congratulations and I look forward to continuing
to our work together.
