This is also possible with Mapcontrib, which works just fine on mobile. The scope is limited to what the mapcontrib instance has pre-defined.
In this example, you are prompted for surface tags for untagged roads: https://www.mapcontrib.xyz/t/743004 Editing only possible if you connect your OSM account using the smiley face. The tool is under active development, and it looks like right now only way centroids are shown, in stead of the previous version where the ways themselves were shown. I'll make an issue for that.
