Hi all, Apologies for the email, I know this will not apply to most of us, but for the few folks who might be interested, it would be really cool to connect.
If anyone is interested in MQTT/mosquitto (https://mosquitto.org/)message brokering and gis or location tracking using open source "owntracks" software (http://owntracks.org/booklet/), basically the opensource packages for apps like the Life360 app (https://www.life360.com/) uses for family location tracking and geofenced alerts please let me know. Any use of an MQTT broker software, mosquitto should work for anything really. Just let me know. I set up a mosquitto broker up publically, the owntracks client and server app and would be happy to give ssh to others to experiment and deploy on. And I also set up a Node-RED server (https://nodered.org/) as well for wiring up things, it works with the MQTT broker of course, e.g., send a tweet when a water alarm in your basement activates. it is IoT wiring software, but you can just service wiring too, email to twitter, or tweet when I arrive at the office, etc. Node-RED is like IFTT on steroids and opensource. As I said, you can use the existing set ups for any MQTT compatable services. I am just learning and hope some others might be on that same path and not want to have to deal with setting up the software. Hopefully we can learn from each other. Just send me an email directly. And there is a webinar in a few hours about MQTT/Mosquitto at hackaday.io today (great introduction material already there too) https://hackaday.io/event/112092-mqtt-community-chat (edited) Cheers, blake -- ---------------------------------------------------- Blake Girardot OSM Wiki - https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/User:Bgirardot HOTOSM Member - https://hotosm.org/users/blake_girardot skype: jblakegirardot _______________________________________________ HOT mailing list HOT@openstreetmap.org https://lists.openstreetmap.org/listinfo/hot
