If you need some help learning the mapping process and tools, I would suggest https://learnosm.org - there's a ton of resources there, not just on remote mapping, but a variety of mapping related topics (field mapping, imagery, etc.). Last, if you want to chat with like minded individuals, the HOT Slack is much more lively than this mailing list, you can go to https://slack.hotosm.org/ to get set up - there you will find a vast array of chat 'rooms' on most any HOT topic. This is also the best place to connect with the Tech Team if you're interested in contributing to development - look for the "geospatial-tech-and-innovation" channel.
