Network Engineer with SW Stress skills plus WAN Location - Roseville, CA Duration - 6+ Months Rate - Keep it low please Job description: As a member of the Solution Test Center (STC), you will contribute to the development and verification of ProCurve Networking Products. Responsibilities during the design life cycle include HW and SW WAN product performance and stress, security protocol verification, total solutions level verification, networking features and protocol verification (layers 2-7). Candidates must be capable of identifying root cause of complex networking problems and suggest solutions to the software and hardware development teams. Additional responsibilities include working with support marketing to resolve complex customer problems. Must Possess advanced understanding of networking devices A working knowledge of chassis based Switch solutions (ProCurve, Foundry, Cisco preferred). Understanding of Spanning Tree, including Standards (802.1d, 802.1s, 802.1w) and PVST Proficient in IP routing, including OSPF and BGP Experience using IPSec VPNs and Tunneling technology Experience configuring WAN connections such as T1, DSL, DS3 Experience configuring WAN routers (Cisco, ProCurve preferred) Working knowledge of Linux Some understanding of WiFi technology Troubleshooting Skills Understanding of TCP protocols and OSI layers Experience in Network Design Ability to estimate task duration and deliver on commitments. Ability to develop and communicate designs, strategies, tactics, and schedules. Test plan development and execution experience. Self-starter, motivated, independent with strong work ethics. Ability to lead as well as work in a team. Wants A theoretical understanding of IPv6 Experience with Traffic Generators (preferably Ixia) Knowledge of VoIP technologies including SIP. Experience using Network Management tools Other duties : Ability to successfully interact with 3rd party test and development partners. Participation on cross-functional project teams.
